Starting a new business is always an ambitious undertaking. When The London Selection approached me with the idea to disrupt the traditional world of gift hampers, it immediately struck me as great new take on the idea. The proposition was to allow London’s colourful and diverse boroughs to tell a story through the hampers; featuring artisan product places like Shoreditch, Chelsea and Broadway Market, each hamper would become an ‘edition’ of its borough.
I worked with the London Selection to bring their vision to life. Reflecting the artisan nature of the product that the hampers would carry, I created a visual language that started with a simple yet structural wordmark, drawing inspiration from the London landmark Big Ben.
Individual logos were then created for the boroughs, each with a subtle nod to the area. Raw packaging materials such as wood and paper straw were chosen to further the artisan idea, and the subsequent hampers photographed in a dynamic and revealing way.
